For cargo, send this

• The commodity, and its HS code if you have one
• The gross weight, and the volume or the piece count
• Where the cargo starts and where it has to be: the port, or the full address if it is collected or delivered inland
• Full container or consolidated, and the equipment if it is not a standard dry box
• Roughly when the cargo is ready
• The incoterm, if one is agreed

Reefer, out of gauge and dangerous cargo change the quote, so say so in the first message. Dangerous goods need the class and the UN number before anyone can price them.

For a vessel call, send this

The vessel's name and IMO number, the port and her ETA, load or discharge, and anything else the call carries: a crew change, stores, bunkers or a survey. Port agency lists everything a proforma needs.

What one rate can cover

The booking and the documents: freight forwarding. The entry at the Oman end, filed in this office through Bayan, the Directorate General of Customs electronic single window: customs clearance. The road leg inside Oman and across GCC borders, with our own trucks and contracted hauliers: land transport. We quote one leg or the whole file, whichever you need.

For India and Pakistan we sell slots on two services out of Sohar: FENG HAI 66, calling Karachi and Mundra, and DEDE KORKUT, calling Karachi, Nhava Sheva and Mundra. If your lane is not one of ours, ask anyway: we arrange cargo through partners on other lanes, and we name who carries it before you book.

What a rate from us is

A rate is for one shipment on one date. Freight moves, so we quote per shipment and do not publish a price list. We are an agent, not the carrier: on sea freight the shipper receives the principal's bill of lading, signed by us as agent. We are not the cheapest name on every lane and we have no global network. What you get is one office running the booking, the clearance and the road, and a quote that says what it includes and what it does not.

What happens next

The reply comes from the person who will run the file. If a detail is missing, we ask for it before we quote. The office is open Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 17:00.
