Sohar, then Mundra, then Karachi, then Sohar

BAMSI BEYREK works Sohar, then Mundra, then Karachi, and then back to Sohar. We sell slots on this service. The booking is taken in this office, by the people who also file the customs entry and send the truck to the terminal, so one file carries the cargo from the booking to your door.

We are not the carrier on it. You receive the principal's bill of lading, signed by us as agent, and the principal's terms, time bar and chosen forum govern any claim on the carriage. That is simply what buying a slot from an agent means, and we name the principal on your booking before you have to ask.

Mundra comes straight after Sohar

On this rotation the first port after Sohar is Mundra. Mundra is in Gujarat and serves the north and northwest Indian hinterland, so cargo from Oman for a consignee who clears and takes delivery in that part of India is discharged at the port they actually work from.

Ask the consignee which port they clear at before you ask anyone for a rate. Mundra and Nhava Sheva both read as India on a purchase order, but they serve different hinterlands and leave the receiver with different inland costs. The answer decides which service your booking belongs on, and getting it now is cheaper than changing the discharge port after the bill of lading is issued, which needs the principal's approval.

Karachi, and then back to Sohar

From Mundra the vessel goes on to Karachi, and from Karachi it returns to Sohar. Pakistan cargo for Oman loads at Karachi and is discharged at Sohar on the last leg of the rotation. Cargo from Oman for Pakistan stays on board through the Mundra call and comes off at Karachi.

FENG HAI 66 and DEDE KORKUT call Karachi as well. For Pakistan cargo we book whichever service fits your cargo and your timing. Tell us the cargo and where it has to be, and the choice of service is ours to make.

Mundra to Sohar, through Karachi

The rotation carries cargo into Oman as well as out of it. A container loaded at Mundra stays on board through the Karachi call and is discharged at Sohar. There the customs entry is filed in this office through Bayan, and the box leaves the terminal on our own trucks or with contracted hauliers.

The same ports as FENG HAI 66, in the other order

FENG HAI 66 calls the same three ports in the opposite order: Sohar, then Karachi, then Mundra. If your consignee wants Nhava Sheva, which serves Mumbai and the western hinterland, the service for it is DEDE KORKUT, which works Sohar, then Karachi, then Nhava Sheva, then Mundra. BAMSI BEYREK does not call Nhava Sheva.

The difference between them is the order of the ports and nothing more. Tell us the port your consignee wants and when the cargo is ready, and we put the booking on the service that fits.

What a slot gives you

A slot is space on a named service, bought from the party that runs it and sold on to you. What we owe you is the booking: space confirmed on a sailing, equipment released to you, the cut off times for documents and for gate in, and your shipping instructions turned into a draft bill of lading for you to check.

What we do not owe is the carriage itself. The contract of carriage is with the principal named in the carrier box on the bill, and our signature beneath it is an agent's signature. That decides who a cargo claim goes against and by when. Liner agency sets the relationship out in full.

Full container or consolidated

A full container is sealed at origin and moves as one unit, and you pay for the box whether it is full or not. Consolidated cargo shares a box with other shippers, with a stuffing at one end and a stripping at the other. Ask for both prices: the break even point between them depends on the lane and the cargo.

Reefers, out of gauge cargo and dangerous goods each need their details before anyone can quote, so raise them early. Freight forwarding covers equipment and quotes in more detail.

The documents, and the Oman end of the file

The commercial invoice and packing list travel with the cargo, with a certificate of origin where the destination asks for one, the VGM declaration of the container's verified gross mass, and dangerous goods papers where the commodity needs them. The description, weights, marks and consignee details have to match across all of them and match the bill of lading.

At the Oman end, the customs entry is filed in this office through Bayan, the Directorate General of Customs single window: customs clearance. The road leg between the terminal and your premises is our own work, with our trucks and contracted hauliers: land transport. We plan the empty return with the movement, because detention stops only when the empty is back at the depot the line named: demurrage and detention.

What to send to get a rate

The commodity, the gross weight and the volume or piece count, the port your consignee wants, full container or consolidated, and roughly when the cargo is ready. If an incoterm is agreed, name it, and if the cargo is collected or delivered inland, give us the address rather than the city.

Call +968 9672 1075 to 1079, five lines, message us on WhatsApp on +968 9367 4200, or write to [email protected]. The office is open Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 17:00, and the reply comes from the person who will run the file.
