An Omani agent for the vessel, the cargo, the clearance and the road

Ruby Shipping Line LLC, trading as RSL, is registered in Muscat at Muscat Pavilion, Tower 2, Floor 6, Muscat Hills, Ghala. The office is there. The work is at Sohar, the port through which Oman's container and bulk cargo actually moves, and at Salalah when a schedule or a transhipment routing puts the cargo there instead.

We run five business lines and no others. Port agency for vessels calling at Omani ports. Freight forwarding for sea freight, full container and consolidated. Customs clearance, filed in house. Liner agency for the NVOCC principals who have signed us as their agent. Land transport from the terminal to your premises, in our own trucks and with contracted hauliers. All five are set out on the services page, and any one of them can be taken on its own.

We are an agent, not a carrier. We issue our contracted principals' bills of lading under their authority. We do not own or charter vessels and we are not the contracting carrier on your cargo. That is the correct description of the relationship, and we would rather write it here than have you work it out from the paperwork.

The customs work we do ourselves rather than hand to a broker. Entries are filed through Bayan, the Directorate General of Customs' electronic single window. That is a deliberate choice about where the accountability sits. When a tariff classification or a declared value is queried, the person who can answer it works in this office.

Our home port is Sohar. From there we attend vessels calling at Omani ports and move cargo on the lanes our customers actually use: China and the wider East Asia trade, the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent including Karachi, Bandar Abbas across the water, and East Africa. The company serves Oman, the GCC, Africa and East Asia. On the road our reach is Oman itself and cross-border overland into the GCC, moving under customs transit within the GCC common customs territory.

Salalah is a transhipment hub and takes the same cargo when a schedule or a routing puts it there. Oman also has Duqm. Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat stopped handling commercial cargo in 2014 and is a cruise and tourism port now, which is why our registered office is in Muscat and our operation is not.

We are a young company. Ruby Shipping Line was registered in 2025, and we would rather be judged on the shipments we run than on a history we do not have yet.
