One agent in Oman for the vessel, the cargo, the clearance and the road
Ruby Shipping Line attends the vessel at the berth, books and follows the cargo, files the customs entry itself, and runs the cargo from the terminal to your warehouse door. Registered in Muscat, working out of Sohar.
Cargo through Oman rarely sits with one company
A vessel calls and one company attends it. The cargo is booked with a second. A third files the customs entry. A fourth puts a truck under the box and takes it off the terminal. Every handover is a phone call, a set of documents re-keyed, and a place for a day to disappear while each party waits on the one before it.
Ruby Shipping Line runs that sequence on a single file. We attend the vessel, we book the cargo, and we file the clearance ourselves through Bayan rather than passing it to a broker. One reference, one number to call when you want to know where something is, and one company answering for what happened at each step.
We take the box off the terminal too, to your warehouse and beyond, with our own trucks and with contracted hauliers, so the file we hold covers the vessel, the cargo, the clearance and the road. What that means in practice is set out on the port agency, customs clearance and land transport pages.
We sell slots on two services out of Sohar.
FENG HAI 66 works Sohar, then Karachi, then Mundra.
DEDE KORKUT works Sohar, then Karachi, then Nhava Sheva, then Mundra.
Space on either is booked through us. We are not the carrier on them: the bill of lading you receive is the principal's, signed by us as their agent. The agency relationship is set out on the liner agency page.
We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we do not have the network of a global agency. What we have is one accountable party inside Oman for work that usually sits with separate companies.

What we do
Port agency
We attend vessels calling at Omani ports: berth booking and port formalities, documentation with the port and the authorities, crew changes, stores and husbandry. You get one representative on the ground rather than a number in another country.
Freight forwarding
Sea freight in and out of Oman, full container and consolidated. We quote the lane, book the space, and keep the documents moving so the box is not sitting because a certificate is late.
Customs clearance
We file with Omani customs ourselves through Bayan, the Directorate General of Customs electronic single window. Doing it in house is the difference between an answer and a message passed to a broker, and it is why a query on a tariff code or a valuation goes straight to the person who filed the entry.
Liner agency
We act as signed agent for our contracted NVOCC principals and issue their bills of lading under that authority. We are not the carrier, and we will tell you exactly whose paper you are holding.
Land transport
We move cargo off the terminal to your premises and beyond, inside Oman and overland across GCC borders under customs transit, with our own trucks and with contracted hauliers. Detention does not stop at the customs release, it stops when the empty is back at the nominated depot, and that run is on the same file.
The five lines in detail

We work out of Sohar, and that is on purpose
Sohar is where Oman's container and bulk cargo actually moves. Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat stopped handling commercial cargo in 2014 and is a cruise and tourism port now, and an agent who is not present at the working port is making phone calls on your behalf rather than walking the quay. Our registered office is in Muscat, at Muscat Pavilion in Ghala. The operation is not.
From there we work the lanes our customers actually use: China and the wider East Asia trade, the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent including Karachi, Bandar Abbas across the water, and East Africa. Full container and consolidated cargo both, and the two behave differently the moment something slips. An LCL box waits for the rest of its consolidation, and a rolled groupage shipment costs days an FCL booking would not. We tell you which one suits your cargo when we quote the freight forwarding job.
Salalah is a transhipment hub rather than a second Sohar, and it earns its place when a schedule or a routing calls for it. Duqm exists and is growing. Most of what we handle still moves through Sohar, because that is where the services call.
We answer in English, Arabic and Persian. The trade along this coast runs in all three, and Persian is a working language on the Bandar Abbas corridor rather than a courtesy on a website, so no shipper here has to describe their cargo in their third language.

Demurrage and detention: who charges what, and when the clock runs
Two charges on the same late container, billed by two different parties, stopped by two different actions. How demurrage, detention and terminal storage work on cargo through Sohar and Salalah, and what a shipper can do before the bill exists.
Tell us what you are moving
Send the cargo, the route and the rough timing. Calls and WhatsApp on +968 7702 8528, or write to [email protected]. The office is open Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 17:00, and the reply comes from the person who would run the file.
